Welcome to our “Home Away from Home” – we call it Pecan Grove Cottages because of our pecan trees on the property with decades of generational history (planted in 1938). Meanwhile, if you are looking for a little peace and quiet with awesome curbside - backyard country charm, then this is the stop! Besides, most folks would rather have a different view than your typical hotel, right?

We appreciate and value our customers and would like for them to have a memorable, relaxing getaway/excursion while visiting west Tennessee. Oftentimes you like to travel - but not so far that you do not enjoy the true essence of a vacation or simply a quiet, peaceful time to regroup! Finding that “me time” to spend with family and loved ones is virtually important while leaving all stress behind!

Reelfoot Lake, shallow lake on the boundary between Lake and Obion counties in northwestern Tennessee, U.S., near Tiptonville. It was formed by the earthquakes that occurred along the New Madrid Fault in the winter of 1811–12. In the upheaval, land on the east side of the Mississippi River sank, creating a depression that river water rushed in to fill. The lake has a surface area of some 23 square miles (60 square km) and an average depth of about 5 feet (1.5 metres). It is full of cypress trees whose roots intertwine underwater to provide havens for fish. The lake and the surrounding wooded area have been set aside as a state park and wildlife refuge supporting numerous species of fish and fowl. Running Reelfoot Bayou flows southward out of the lake, joining the Obion River in Dyer county, which, in turn, joins the Mississippi.

The Award-Winning Tennessee Soybean Festival is fortunate to have collaborative efforts of the University of Tennessee at Martin, local industry and businesses, leaders in agriculture, churches and community organizations, and countless other volunteers who work together to produce a prestigious festival each year. The Tennessee Soybean Festival provides an opportunity for food, fun and fellowship, all in celebration of Weakley County’s cash crop- the soybean. The event pays tribute to the soybean farmer, yet includes something for everyone. From humble beginnings the festival has grown to have more 20,000 attendees throughout the week. While the Tennessee Soybean Festival places a major emphasis on the soybean, education, community, families and children, the festival itself makes the City of Martin a destination during the week.
